- For over 10 years I have worked from 2 GP Surgeries.
- I use acupuncture to treat chronic pain in all it's forms. This includes arthritis, back pain, headaches, migraine, sinusitis, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow and much more.
- I also treat people suffering with insomnia, menopausal symptoms, depression and anxiety.
- I work with couples who need help with fertility issues - in 2009 The Bristol Centre for Reproductive Medicine at Southmead hospital (one of the UK's leading fertility centres) asked me to consider coming to work with them offering acupuncture on site for their patients. Ultimately funding made this impossible for the centre however we often have patients in Common.
- Before qualifying as an acupuncturist I trained and worked as a counsellor for a local charity. I understand how emotions and thought processes can affect and in some cases even cause our symptoms directly. Where it is helpful, I use this understanding, training and experience in the treatment room.
- Treatment can be a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Happily most of my patients and clients do enjoy it!
Why do I practice acupuncture?
I was drawn to study and practice acupuncture because of the profound and significant changes it brought and continues to bring to my own health.
My training and approach:
I trained for three years under Professor Worsley at the College of Traditional Acupuncture, I graduated in 1995.
I trained for further two years at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading. This additional training enables me to use both of the leading styles of acupuncture practiced in the UK today. I have also undertaken training in electro-acupuncture - which in some situations can be more effective than the traditional approach.
If it's appropriate I use my counselling experience to achieve the best and fastest results.
